Order confirmation

The shop will send you an automatic confirmation e-mail when we receive your order. This e-mail only indicates that the webshop has indeed received your order and forwarded it to us. (Please note that the merchandise available on the The Fanatic Calligrapher website are subject to change. Despite our efforts to always keep the website updated with our stock, some items that appear on the website may be out of stock!)


The Fanatic Calligrapher will send another e-mail about the status confirmation (like the availability of the items and the possible delivery time) of your order within 5 working days from receiving your order. If one of the items of your order happens to be not in stock, then we will inform you about that, indicating the possible availability and delivery date, so you can modify or cancel your order. If you accept the possible delivery date or modify your order, we will send you a confirmation e-mail about that, or refund your payment if you choose to cancel your order.


(If you don’t receive a status confirmation e-mail from us within 5 working days, it’s possible that there’s a bug in our system. Please be so kind to send us a mail to hello@thefanaticcaligrapher.com so we can fix it.)

International shipping

We are shipping on a daily basis all around the world from Europe.

Delivery outside of the EU


We are shipping to all around the world on a daily basis. Orders from outside the EU may be subject to longer delivery times once shipped due to customs procedures.


All orders outside of the EU will be subject to import VAT charges and customs fees which are based on the country you are shopping from. This is beyond our control. You are only paying taxes in your local country, and not at the point of sale.


Please be aware that customers outside of the European Union are responsible for payment of any local customs duties. The Fanatic Calligrapher will not be responsible for any fees charged by customs or other tax authorities.


*Please note* Any parcels returned to us due to refusal to pay Import taxes and duties on arrival, will not be refunded original shipping and return costs when the parcel is returned to us.

If you refuse any shipments from The Fanatic Calligrapher, you remain responsible for all original shipping charges, taxes, customs duties incurred on the package – original and return shipment costs also – and the cost of returning the package to The Fanatic Calligrapher. We will subtract this amount from your merchandise refund, if any. If the item is not received by the customer and sent back to us by the postal service company you will be charged the actual shipping fee (not the shipping fee according to our shipping calculator). The price of the item will be credited once we receive the item. We will contact you to inform you when we receive the package.

Delivery within the EU


Our business is based in Hungary, which is part of the European Union. Therefore, if your order is shipped to EU countries, you don’t have to pay any further taxes or costs upon delivery.

Shipping within Hungary

Orders within Hungary ship via Magyar Posta and MPL.


Small items, like nibs and nib holders can be shipped as a standard letter, named as ‘Small Package’ during checkout. Please note however, that if you choose the ‘Small package’ shipping option, your items will not be insured unless you select ‘Home Delivery’ or ‘MPL Parcel Terminal’. With the latter two shipping options your package will be insured automatically, and you’ll get notifications from the carrier about the status of your parcel.


Make sure your billing and shipping addresses are correct when placing your order for correct delivery! (Shipping to a wrong address and rerouting the parcel might involve extra costs upon delivery.)

Please keep in mind that Bank Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays are NOT classed as working days. Although our webshop is up and running and accepts orders on weekends and Bank Holidays, orders placed on Friday afternoon after 1pm, during the weekend or on a Bank Holiday may only begin to be processed the following working day the earliest.

The shop will send an automatic e-mail right after placing your order, however we will send a confirmation e-mail about the status of your order within 5 working days from receiving your order.


Please note we cannot guarantee delivery dates. Although we use all reasonable means to ensure that your order is delivered within a specified time, we cannot accept responsibility for late deliveries due to circumstances outside of our control. Items in stock are processed for shipping in usually 3-5 WORKING days from purchase date. If an item is out of stock, we will get in touch with you.


If you ordered multiple items, we will wait for all the items to be in stock and send them together. The shipping may take longer accordingly and  we will notify you of this in the status confirmation e-mail.


Some of the listed items are made-to-order. Given the nature of made-to-order production, processing times may vary. We will inform you about approximate time frames, but we cannot guarantee delivery dates. Made-to-order items ship as soon as their production has finished. Once your made-to-oder item is ready for shipping, you will receive an email with details on delivery. We will indicate the possible shipping date in the status confirmation e-mail.

Missed or refused deliveries


Please note that missed deliveries, parcels that are refused delivery or returned to us because they have not been collected from a depot/parcel shop within 5 working days will incur a surcharge to cover the return costs we are charged by our carrier. The cost varies based on your location.

Delivery disputes or problems with delivery need to be brought to our attention within 7 days of the shipping date, after this date we can accept no responsibility for missing or lost items.


All items are quality controlled and checked for any faults before they are shipped to the customer. Should you receive an item that is not in perfect condition please contact customer care immediately.

The Fanatic Calligrapher team wishes you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Please let us know within 14 days of receiving your package if you would like to make a return by contacting us at hello@thefanaticcalligrapher.com. The return package must be postmarked no later than 30 days from the date of original purchase. Refunds may only be issued in the same form as was utilized for payment. Please note that we are unable to exchange your returned item / s to a different item. The balance will be refunded to your bank account within 5 business days from receiving of the returned item/s, in their original condition. A re-stocking fee is applied to the items that are used or are not in their original condition.


Please note that custom designed and custom made made-to-order items and sale items are not refundable.


Shipping fees are not refundable. We recommend that you insure your return package and use a carrier that allows you to track your package, as we are not responsible for delayed or lost return packages.


We are unable to accept returns for items purchased at other retail locations or other websites.
